Scarlet Labbe-Watson ’20

I am now a freshman at Watershed. It has been a very fun experience getting to know everyone at my new school, and despite COVID restrictions I have been able to become part of a very fun, silly, and supportive cohort this year. Outside of school I am continuing to pursue violin, which I learned at Ashwood, by taking private lessons and doing chamber music at Bay Chamber. This year I have been able to really become a part of the wonderful, friendly, close knit community of Bay Chamber. I want to give a shout out to my two amazing violin teachers Sophie and Josie Davis, I have learned so much from them in the past year. I am also taking an herb course where we study plants around here through the lens of Western Herbalism, Ayurveda, and Chinese Medicine. I recently choreographed a dance to a piece I played for a school project, which was very fun, especially because COVID has limited the possibility of dancing in groups. I am also taking a Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention course with Amy Carpander, which is very helpful. This coming summer I am excited to say I am working at three different farms where I hope to learn about how to grow herbs, flowers, and produce.
