Iyla Hopkins ’01

Greetings from Oregon! I graduated my two year teacher training program last June, at Waldorf Teacher Education Eugene with a grades teaching certificate. I am currently employed as a specialty teacher at the Eugene Waldorf School. I teach garden, orchestra, and games classes. I also assist in the 4th grade for a child with special needs, help in handwork classes, and teach after school violin and viola lessons. The students call me Miss Iyla.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening, playing music with friends, exploring the surrounding mountains and hot springs, and riding my bike everywhere.

Not a day goes by that I am not grateful for my time at Ashwood. I would not where I am today without the dedication of the pioneering teachers who started the school. I think of them often and am inspired by all the lovely memories of our amazing education.
