Many of you are aware that Ashwood ‘s tuition income does not cover the expense of running the school. Every year there is a financial gap that needs to be bridged in order to keep Ashwood financially stable and thriving. In recent years, the gap has been in the realm of $100,000. The gap this 2018-19 fiscal year is $115,000.
In order to keep the school operating, Ashwood must raise money. This is what the Development Office does. There are two fundraisers throughout the year that are specifically aimed at raising the money to bridge the gap: the Annual Appeal with a goal of $90,000, and the Serve-A-Thon with a goal of $25,000.
The Annual Appeal asks our immediate community— current families, grandparents, faculty, alumni and alumni families, and friends—for direct donations and is active for the entire fiscal year (July 1 to June 30); the Serve-A-Thon primarily engages current families and faculty and encourages them to raise $250 towards the effort by asking their broader community for donations. The Serve-A-Thon is especially active from early March to early May.
