Ashwood Waldorf School in Rockport is offering a creative playtime event at the school on Wednesday, August 15, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m., for children ages 3-6 years old with an adult. Teachers Jen Corning and Morgan Wade will teach families how to make boats out of walnut shells, and lead circle and singing games. The event is free of charge; registration by Monday, August 13 is required.
Play has received a lot of attention in the media and in educational circles recently. Experts in child development emphasize that play is essential because it contributes to the cognitive, physical, social, and emotional well being of children and youth.
Not only is play a vital element of early-childhood growth, it is a delightful one! Join us with your children on Wednesday, August 15!
To register, contact Ashwood Waldorf School: 207.236.8021; firstname.lastname@example.org
Join us us at the Rosewood EC Center for tea! This event is for all early childhood families and offers an opportunity for families to meet and greet one another. Most importantly, it will allow the children to become familiar with their classroom before the first day of school.
Join us for our annual, enchanted woodland walk! In quiet awe, we tread the magical path through the woods, lit by 100 twinkling jack-o-lanterns. What will we find along the path? Fairies, dragon-battling knights, Red Riding Hood, hearty woodcutters, shy rabbits, brave archers? Come look for your favorite fairy-tale characters in this delightful pre-Halloween treat for the very young (through 9 years). For the older children (aged 9–14), there will be a campfire and story. Come in costume! (No scary masks, please.)
Children’s Winter Spiral
Winter is dark,
Yet each tiny spark
Brightens the way…
On this day, unseen, Saint Nicholas visits Ashwood, leaving surprises for the children. Each classroom celebrates this in-school event in a unique way.
