Parent-Child Classes: New Winter Session Added! @ Rosewood Early-Childhood Building, Ashwood Waldorf School
Jan 23 @ 9:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Ashwood Waldorf School is offering a new, five-week session of our popular Parent-Child classes, led by teacher Audrey McGlashan, beginning on Tuesday, January 16 and running through February 13. Classes are held in Ashwood’s early-childhood center on Park Street in Rockport on Tuesdays from 9:00-11:00 a.m.

Parent-Child classes are for children ages 18 months to three years with a caregiver. While children engage in creative play with simple, natural toys, adults may work on a craft project provided by the teacher, help with snack preparation, and discuss parenting and child development. A walk through the woods on one of Ashwood’s trails, time on the playground to climb and swing, and a goodbye song complete the morning.

Ashwood’s Parent-Child program nurtures the whole family (moms, dads, babies, toddlers, and grandparents are all welcome) and provides a bridge from home to school. When ready, young children may transition to Ashwood’s mixed-age early childhood classroom.

Cost for each 5-week session is $150, and early registration is recommended; space is limited and classes fill quickly.

To register, contact: Judith Soleil.

Candle Dipping for Young Ones @ Rosewood Early-Childhood Building, Ashwood Waldorf School
Feb 3 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Candlemas

If Candlemas Day be fair and bright
Winter will take another flight.
If Candlemas Day be cloud and rain
Winter is gone and will not come again.

Groundhog Day and the ancient festival, Candlemas, occur at the beginning of February on a date that is halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. To celebrate, we invite families with children ages 3-6 to join us on:

Saturday, February 3, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. for a morning of play, snacks, songs, and a chance to hand dip your own beeswax candle.

Call or email the school to register: this event is free of charge, and space is limited.
