Parent Participation
Parent involvement is as critical to the success of an independent school as it is to the successful rearing of a child. At Ashwood, this involvement takes many forms; academic and extracurricular activities, organizing educational events for parents, assisting with fundraising initiatives and working alongside administrators and staff.
Volunteering allows parents to become acquainted with the School and one another, experience their child in new ways, and observe the Waldorf approach to learning first-hand. Opportunities include:
- Joining the Parent Community Council
- Serving on committees
- Helping to organize and run annual events, such as Grandparent's Day, May Festival and graduation
- Chaperone class outings
- Provide office help
- Assist in classroom activities
