Founded in 1986 and located in Rockport, Maine, Ashwood Waldorf School is an independent and accredited private school serving approximately 100 students from eighteen months to eighth grade. The largest independent school in midcoast Maine, Ashwood enrolls students from Damariscotta to Belfast and beyond.
“Of course there is variation from individual to individual, but in general the Ashwood students transition very well. They care a great deal about their educations and are conscientious about their homework. In class I have found them engaged and enthusiastic. They respond well to critical feedback and work hard. Socially they are often more mature than their peers. The success of these students undoubtedly has much to do with Ashwood and much to do with attentive and involved parents.”
