WHY DOES ASHWOOD have an Annual Appeal? Like other non-profit organizations, Ashwood relies on gifts to make up the difference between tuition and the actual cost of educating our students. The alternative, raising the tuition, is prohibitive for our community.
In addition, it’s the easiest, least costly, most effective fundraiser we do. It’s just you, your checkbook, and your pen. It’s just you, thinking about what Ashwood means to you.
Will my gift make a difference?
Each gift is valued and every contribution matters; no gift is too small or too large. It’s about community and participation as much as it is about reaching a specific goal. If every donor contributes generously, according to their ability, we will continue to thrive. In addition, the Development Committee is actively seeking funding via grants. The more we can show our unity with as close to 100% participation as possible in all constituencies (alumni, alumni parents, grandparents, faculty, etc.), the greater our success will be in securing grants for our community.
What do gifts to the Annual Fund provide?
- Faculty and staff salaries
- Tuition assistance
- Implementing strategic goals and initiatives
- Facility operations
Is my Annual Appeal gift tax deductible?
Yes! Ashwood Waldorf School is a 501(c)(3) organization. No goods or services are provided in exchange for your contribution, which is tax deductible to the extent provided by law.
Can I make monthly payments?
A monthly payment option is available that allows you to pay your gift over the number of months you choose. This is a great way to maximize your gift — for some, one payment of $1,000 may be out of the question, while 10 monthly payments of $100 may be quite possible. A gift of $15 per month, the cost of three cappuccinos per month, over one year becomes a $180 gift. Of course, you may still choose to make your contribution in a single payment.
