Waldorf in the Woods
Children will create natural crafts from the materials they have gathered from the woods — ferns to press and make notecards; birch bark to build a boat and sail it in the stream; flowers to make a Maine flower “lei”; and more. Summer songs, games and stories will be part of the fun.
Instructors: Toki Oshima has a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Sunbridge College and has been a Waldorf educator for 11 years. She has a degree in art and is a master musician. Toki taught at Ashwood for many years and now teaches at Morning Glory Garden, a Waldorf-inspired preschool in Belfast, Maine.
Marianne Bockli received her Early Childhood teaching certificate in Switzerland and did her Waldorf training in New England. She started French programs in several Maine schools and taught taught at Ashwood for 15 years. She now serves as a mentor to several Waldorf initiatives in China.
