May Faire & Open House
Ashwood will host its annual May Faire & Open House from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 4 at 180 Park Street, Rockport. Open to the public and free of charge, this festival welcomes spring with a day full of festivities, games, and crafts for all ages. There is a puppet show for the youngest visitors performed at 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Ashwood’s Parent Community Council will host a marketplace of Waldorf art and craft supplies. Homemade food and refreshments will also be available. The highlight of the day will be the bagpipe procession and Maypole weaving and Morris Dancing with accompanying student fiddlers and singers.
Along with the Early Childhood Center, all Ashwood classrooms will be displaying school work and will be open for viewing from 11 a.m. to noon. In addition, Ashwood’s Eighth Graders will be on hand to talk with visitors about their yearlong independent projects. (Don’t miss the bicycle-powered ice cream maker!) Guests are encouraged to bike or carpool to the event as parking is limited.
