Introductory Talk on Biodynamics
Deb Soule of Avena Botanicals and Tom Griffin of Hope’s Edge Farm will speak about biodynamic farming and gardening as the introductory lecture in Avena’s series “Our Living Earth, Living Soul”. Biodynamic agriculture, based on the spiritual scientific insights of Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925), is a method of organic farming that emphasizes the holistic development and interrelationships among soil, plants and animals, as well as a self-sustaining system of agriculture.
There is a suggested donation of $10 for the lecture. Pre-registration is suggested but not required. For more information, call Avena Botanicals at 594-0694 or visit avenabotanicals.com/classes-events.
Hopes Edge Farm, located on 100 acres in North Hope, has operated as a seasonal CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) program since 2002 and is committed to organic/biodynamic practices.
Avena Botanicals, launched in the fall of 1985, is Demeter certified . A not-for-profit organization, the Demeter Association, Inc. certifies biodynamic practices and principles. Its vision is to heal the earth through agriculture.
